I have just found a fascinating, if rather gruesome, article concerning Dr Hugh Dewar. Many of you will know that a fountain dedicated to his memory and subscribed to by 'grateful patients' stands in Abercorn Park.
Jane Anderson had no reason to be grateful to Dr Dewar.

Tragic but also fascinating - its amazing how many things we must pass every day in Porty without even realising there is a story or history attached.
