Hello Charlie! But what's happened since? Have we frightened you off with our tales of woe from the inner depths of Portobello?! Have you gone back to lurking permanently? Hope not. We need some new blood......

Yes - we are an online community that hasn't had contact with civilisation for many years and once a month we must sacrifice a lurker upon the virtual altar. Newbie blood is our sustenance and you Charlie have been selected for this honour.

But first you must change into a sacrificial white tee shirt with orange, red and blue bits on it..............

Shame. I was hoping that when he was slaked he would be, ever afterwards, half baked.

It's a "bot" that parses through webpages, following links, looking for email addresses. Those email addresses are then used for the sorts of email we're discussing in another thread.

Anyway, this account should probably just be deleted.

That has a nice ring to it but I think Epykat's explanation made more sense to me.

Dakota,
you need to browse through a few old threads and get acquainted with Mr. P. He's not around just at the moment so there's a chance for you to prepare for his return!!

I was approached in an up town bar on Saturday night by a Newbie. As 'Pal of Porty's Pal' he saw much hilarity in also introducing me to 'Pal of Porty's Pals Pal'. I was assured there were no shortage of 'Pals of Pals etcl' waiting in the wings!

You'd NEED a couple of drinks to ask it! :occasion5:

There must be a mathematical way of doing this? Pal of Porty to the power of 4 - or something?

new newbie

Postby curlygirl » 28 Oct 2004, 20:49

Hi porty peeps. This is my first visit to the forum and I have spent ten times longer on the computer than I meant to! Its great to have a gossip about our community (thinking about new flats on Bath street and the new tie shop threads). Also laughed out loud  at the adverts-that-are-annoying-thread. This is my first time ever on a forum so prepare for lots of silly questions... :?

Greetings curlygirl! If you do a search on Bath Street you will find that it is a subject close to our hearts and a frequent topic of conversation.

We don't mind silly questions, as long as you don't mind stupid answers. Word of warning though - this forum is addictive. Ask Porty! Better still - ask his wife!
