Bellfield Street is going up for sale. Those in charge could not care about those who use it. however, the fly in the ointment will be the graveyard it sits in. On top of that, the sale of St James has not yet gone through as the prospective buyers want planning permission to convert to housing and that is not yet forthcoming. So, as nothing has really changed at St Philips', the question is "is this a Union or pure Slater Walker asset stripping"? So far, as far asI can see it is a Union as those in real charge are still ALL St Philips' people who care nothing about Portobello as they are from Joppa. So those at the Old Parish from the Drop in Cafe to the Guides/ Scouts to Highland Fling After School Club can all just whistle as far as St Philips' is concerned.
