Following on from the tale of the wall collapse at Eastfield I noticed a few Portobello bricks in amongst the rubble:


"William Hunter & Co / Patent / Portobello"

Have seen plenty of the Niddrie, Roslin, Prestongrade etc bricks but this is the first with Portobello marked on it. It's quite fragile & brittle.

I have a few good examples, rescued from rubble a number of years back. They form the frame of a rather fetching TV stand!
