From Tuesday 6th -Sunday 11th there are daily workshops in various venues mostly around Porty to explore this art form. It's safe, fun, requires no skill, just bring yourself! This is the first InterPlay happening in Scotland. It is a programme of workshops and taster sessions where participants will learn tools that make movement, voice, storytelling, theater, stillness, music, and contact easy, accessible and powerful for any group.
As more and more people have learned how to share InterPlay with others, they are taking InterPlay into settings where it can be a useful tool for unlocking their innate creativity for anyone.
Sessions are:
Tuesday 6th March 10 -12 - St Phillips church
Wednesday 7th March 7-9pm - St james church hall, rosefield place
Thursday 8th March 10 12 and 2-4 Gillis Centre, Strathearn Road, Morningside
Saturday10th March 10 -1, 2-5 - 7 -9 ( all day session) St Phillips.
Sunday 11th March 1.30 -4pm - St James's church hall
Marie Kiseil wrote this about her experience of InterPlay:
"In essence, InterPlay is a philosophy and practice that builds self-confidence, a sense of well-being and a spiritual connection with the world around you. Its dimensions are complex: you may reach into your artistic core you never knew you possessed. Through workshops and retreats, you may discover your leadership abilities--by learning tools associated with the arts--that make movement, voice, storytelling, theatre, stillness, music and contact easy, accessible and powerful. Each class can progress in a number of ways, but, generally, a class begins with a warm-up and then moves into a series of "forms" which are simple structures, easy and incremental activities, involving interactions with another or others. Emphasis is based on what feeds, nourishes and engages you.. in an environment of acceptance, not criticism."
