PORTOBELLO'S THIRD ANNUAL ROWING REGATTA
Portobello's seaside contribution to the Olympics will be held on Saturday 28th July.
This annual rowing event will see teams from around Scotland coming to Portobello to compete against each other in traditionally built St Ayles' skiffs.
Clubs are coming from as far away as Achiltibuie, as well as more local rivals Newhaven, Port Seton, North Berwick and South Queensferry.
Racing begins offshore at 10.30 at the bottom of Bath Street. Spectators will be able to see races throughout the day from the prom or the beach, as boats race a triangular course back to the finish line. Live commentary will run throughout the day. There will also be a BBQ, home-made cakes, soft drinks and tea and coffee in the Portobello Sailing and Kayaking Club boat yard, so come along, support your local rowing club and have a great day out.
