Speaking from experience in that my Nana lived at 43, we lived at 36 and my Aunty lived at some other 40 number near the bottom (sorry, Makaveli, I know this upsets you
)and there were even more businesses (a baker's, amusements, a grocers, cafe on the Prom etc...) plus two pubs down there, we didn't have all these lorries going up and down all day every day. Scotmid lorries weren't a problem either, they turned right when they came out of the store back onto the High Street. Obviously the increase in parked cars and the wheelie bins haven't helped but it's hardly progress when you're having more problems now than we did 25 years ago. In fact, when we moved to Marlborough Street we encouraged the kids to go that way to the Annexe because it was the safest route!
