I mean't that just for the Community Council, the group who are involved in the development of a Community Plan should have a meeting with the Council Project Managers prior to a Community Council workshop. This is as much to brief the Project Managers on our thinking and hence make the workshop more productive. Once the Community Council has had its deliberations these can be published to the wider community for discussion.
This doesn't seem a bad process.
What's your gripe Gemini? If you feel outwith the process we are looking for volunteers as there are plenty of activities!!!

My understanding was that the project is looking at ways of consulting with local communities in the widest sense possible and not just with groups/individuals that already have a means of expressing their voice e.g. PAS, Community Council etc., hence the approach of setting up their stalls in public areas such as Ocean Terminal and Scotmid. I'm surprised you got such a positive response to your suggestion that the CC ought to be their starting point Brian as I certainly didn't think that was what they wanted at all

They have European funding to produce a FULLY documented plan to create sustainable, economically vibrant and socially inclusive waterfront areas in european cities and to reconnect the city to the sea. This funding extends up to 2007.
Edinburgh's specific theme is the Integration of Waterfront development with City and Regional strategic objectives. Each partner has separate themes e.g. Gateshead has - 21st century city-living for Europe: Mixed use with affordable housing.
Sara and Kate would like to meet with people in Portobello to understand our views for Portobello. I think the first step should be via the Portobello Community Council before widening it to the whole Community.
