so I've connected up my old (1998 - P2 333mhz) computer to dadaNet and plugged it in to my television in the front room in order to :
a) "preview" all those episodes of 24 which I, er, downloaded (obviously I will buy the dvds and delete the files) on my TV
b) watch some wacky web TV stations like this one - "7bamboo karaoke" :
although there are plenty of webcams etc which you can view in Real player or media player, hidden inside WinAmp (in the "Media Library") are an ever-changing bunch of seriously odd channels, mercifully free of any of the things which drag down traditional channels - taste, decency, editing, viewers - you know the way these things go
7bamboo would appear to be a feed from some club in the US, but you can also get things like amateur french rave videos, truthstream.org ("streaming the truth to the American People"), channels which show old commercials and shows, djs and mcs (DJ DANNY RULES LIVE - THE WORLD IS INVITED!!)
you get the picture. anyone else on my wavelength?
p.s. at the time of writing, i was danny's only viewer.
