Gemini and others have raised concern about this. Some of you will be aware that this site (and the larger area encompassing it) is now regarded as a 'gateway' to Portobello and that the Planning Department of the Council has recently produced a 'Statement of Urban Design Principles' for Baileyfield. Lawrence Marshall sees this as:

'a really crucial opportunity to begin to knit this area back into the urban grain and community fabric of Portobello" and something which will "help us to add a little something in this century to the generally pleasing legacy of development bequeathed us by past generations."

The document itself is far too long for use on the website but I would be happy to forward a copy to anyone who wants to get in touch.
