Bought this and other books [went a bit daft!!] today and started to read it on the 26. V.G. so far and starting to feel compensated for having to read the Da Vinci Code!!!

Wanted to read it "without prejudice" as work and author new to me so have avoided Eric Broon's preface.
I also bought 'Joseph Smith' by James Robertson about an 18/19th century black slave in Scotland from what the blurb says.
And one of Kathy Reichs' gruesome offerings ......... which I've just realised I've read in hardback from the libraryas I was fooled by the word 'new' on the cover [Poppy utters sweary words!] . And lastly 21/2 Pillars of Wisdom by A McCall Smith which looks amusingly promising. [guess what? they are all from the 3 for 2 tables
].
