Saturday night and nothing to do

Well not yet (obviously) as it's Friday.

But with my usual drinking partner away and my local closed, I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations of places to go. Somewhere in the East of Edinburgh, not too formal, no clubs and no risk of getting my head kicked in (that rules Kings Road out then :wink:

)

So where do all the single 20 somethings go???

For fine looking ladies? Well that'll be The Lighthouse for sure, on The Shore. Of course you've got a good chance of getting a fine looking lad too.
I'd prefer Sirius myself for a nignt out, or Kougar Lounge (sp)... There's heaps more...
Love the fish cakes in the King's Wark - but that's diverting slightly from the point.

Must have just been bought out as it used to be owned by the Landlady there. And it used to be so nice.
Will probably now turn into some "trendy wine bar" and you'll never see the same staff in there twice (I've only ever seen 3 people behind the bar in there before - **sigh** a proper pub....)
BTW - update on the shore area. Went down there on Sunday afternoon for a pint after doing a bit of shopping. On my way back some little ---- tried to mug me on Henderson Row. Have lived here 5 years and never had any problems - not even in the middle of the night on Saturday. and then it happens at 6 o'clock on a sunny day on a busy street.
