I guess BB thought they were out of the running for the contract... Fessing up and coming clean that they were given information gives them another chance at the contract.
Or am I just being too cynical.

I mean they've just been cleared of Corporate manslaughter after the Hatfield disaster - despite admitting breaching safety guidelines.

I think it all depends on the timing. When has the information given to them, and when did they come clean about it? Was there a long spell, or was it immediate?
