Festival and floods

Last night, Homer and I had our annual 'big, festival night out". We had a meal then went to see at the Cow Barn (which is really the Reid Concert Hall in Bristo Sq). I always have mixed feelings, when going to see shows around the Pleasance etc. , as it brings back memories of sitting University exams on texts I hadn't quite managed to finish reading.

Despite this, we enjoyed the show and for added nostalgia visited another old haunt of our student days, The Potterow, where we had a short conversation with Roy Walker (of that classic TV series 'Catchphrase' ). Our brief brush with fame over, we went to 'The Southsider' for a drink and then came home, relieved that we lived in Portobello , far, far away from the festival and its frolicking followers.

As the festival is just about to end I thought we might get more mileage out of the thread if we could also add comments about major puddles we encounter. Wangi, I'm sure, will be grateful for the opportunity to expand his gallery of puddle shots from the one on the Prom to more diverse locations in the Portobello locality.
