I absolutely loved 5th and 6th year and was distraught on my last day of school. I remember a sense of sadness that I was leaving something special that I would never experience again and total terror and excitement about what was to follow. But actually life after school has been pretty good too so I don't feel too nostalgic about it now.

I can remember my last week at school but not the actual last day. It was certainly a mixture of sadness, anxiety( going from a wee cheuchter town to college in London was scary) happiness and a sense of freedom.
Wish I'd stayed on for sixth year as I'm not sure that I made the right career move and would probably have done something completely different .

I didn't really have a 'farewell' day at school as such. We moved house at the end of 5th year and I was planning on going back for 6th year at my new school, Currie HS, but I also applied for a few jobs at the same time and then got offered a job that included part-time college....and the lure of a weekly wage won out Still wonder to this day where my life would have gone if I had stayed on (the job/college route didn't quote pan out as I hoped it would)

So all in all my last day at school was a bit of an anti-climax as didn't even know it was last day!
