The Epic Journey

I've finished tidying COC's now (again) vacated room. That's only been five weeks (I can only go in on odd occasions when my stomach can stand it). However, I have just remembered what a nice room it is - well, once we get rid of the red walls and ceiling, black skirting boards and purple door. Not to mention the once blue carpet which is now splattered with aforementioned red, black and purple paint, fag burns and general ground in mix of ash and orange juice. Just as soon as I've picked off the half ton of blu tack stuck to the walls and ceiling and waded through the contents of the cupboard (with my eyes shut lest they see something they really might not like) I might even be able to give it a lick of paint. I was even thinking I might invest in some blinds. Well.....once all the stickers have been painstakingly removed from the windows the light might get in and disturb us. It's been so exciting to gradually reclaim the hundreds of dishes which have eluded us for so long downstairs. We've been reacquainted with casserole dishes and forks that we thought had left home long ago. It almost feels like Christmas! I almost wept with joy when I rediscovered the 4 pillows that went missing from the cupboard many moons ago, not to mention the 'spare' downie.......Oh, how I laughed when I realised she'd put a nice white ring mark on my lovely pine chest of drawers and let's not forget the carved 'A' in the wood of the door jamb. Yes, I have had to come to terms with the fact that she is probably gone for some time......do I miss her??
