What was #1 the day you were born?

With all this musical nostalgia about thaks to Radio Free Porty, I thought some of you might like this:

Apparently Long-haired Lover from Liverpool was #1 the day I came into the world.

Was relieved that there was a Top 10 in 19XX.

"Such a Night" by Johnnie Ray. Never heard of it, but I think my mother would think it was appropriate after 24 hours of labour

"Johnny, remember me" by John Leyton.
How disappointing.

What do you mean? That's on my current radio show - it's a classic!

Hoot's Mon - Lord Rockingham's X1

To Know Him Is To Love Him - The Teddy Bears

The second one is a bit of a favourite - perhaps my mam sang it to me as we huddled in front of the grate, chewing on our porridge cut fresh from the drawer?

by **teddygirl** » 05 Oct 2005, 22:38

You can sing it to me next time I'm along Sicker

I haven't been serenaded for a while.

Me too, Arachnid - maybe we were at the old Portobello High School together?[/quote]

What a relief that there's someone in the same boat as me!!!!!

I was beginning to think that I must be the oldest one in the forum!!! 8-[

I was at the old Portobello High School from 1960 - 63. I loved school so much that I couldn't wait to leave!!!
