Okay - I'll bite.
I write a bit and do patchwork and quilting. Not so much of the latter, since the writing bug bit me again after a hiatus of several years and i am now addicted once again, doing about 2 - 3000 words a day. Every day! My latest piece began on 16 December and is currently at over 70,000 words. Sad, but true.

Wangi..... thank's for the offer. What I was hoping to do was to encourage others to start posting their efforts, not create another Rathbone's doing the Running thread, so I'll soft pedal my own stuff at this stage. The Creative forum could accommodate your photos, for instance, EpyKat's craft work, Seashell's writing, PCC's planning submissions and other creative works.......

I'm Epykat and I'm an alco.....no, I'm not really, but I do do lots of other things. Like, em...wallpapering and making jewellery and stones with pictures on and lots of other things. I have a few guises, the latest being Elle & Pea which can be found both online at http://www.folksy.com/shops/elleandpea and http://www.elleandpea.etsy.com and also in COVE 250 Portobello High Street. I sometimes teach classes in jewellery making and knitting and have been toying with the idea (with a couple of other locals) of trying to set up some kind of Portobello Craft Co-Operative whereby other local artists and crafters could get together and swap skills, do some talks/classes and maybe come up with some ideas on how to get our work out to a wider local audience, so if anybody is interested please let me know.

I'd be interested in getting involved in something like this that's local to Portobello. We do screen printing and textiles under the name of Through the Trees. That sounds really good. I used to belong to a patchwork group in Midlothian, but can no longer attend due to transport difficulties. I'd love to be able to meet up with other people and maybe also have space to do things like lay out quilt tops for layering up with batting and backing prior to quilting. I'd also be happy to help anyone else wanting to get started, although I am by no means an expert. If I knew how to post a photo, I'd put up some shots of a few quilts I've made in the past. I'm also a keen knitter, and have dabbled in cross stitch.

The small gouaches are one off's and for sale through COVE. I don't actually know what price they have put on them. You would have to pop in to find out.

The acrylics and the oil are also one off's,all rather large and I don't want to sell them.

What I said to Bob was that if anyone wanted a copy I'd be quite happy to run off a digital A4 print from the photographs I sent him.

Well, the inaugural meeting of Creative Porty went reasonably well! We agreed we'd have a Facebook page (action Nicola) and see if we can get some kind of exhibition space set up (action Gill)....so watch this space for updates.
