Find below a message posted recently by Lawrence Marshall. I have moved it to the more current thread to maintain some continuity.

I've pasted in below a copy of some information regarding the format of planning applications, where and when to view them and how to make representations regarding them.
This information and more is available at
www.edinburgh.gov.uk/planning
My guess is that the outline planning application for a supermarket on the former Scottish Power site will appear on the Weekly Planning List either this week or next.
The Head of Planning's e-mail address is
alan.henderson@edinburgh.gov.uk
I understand that it's perfectly in order to make representations by e-mail to this address. It's always a good idea to quote the application number when doing so. Hence, it would probably be best to wait until this application is officially published before making representations.
When I know the number myself, I'll post it on this site. But please note that I'm away on holiday from Thursday 21st to Thursday 28th August.
