Just to prove that not all planning applications are bad news, here is a very welcome scheme submitted by CEC to "enhance the streetscape quality and create garden space outwith housing" at the flats opposite the Pitz, 65 - 77 Portobello High Street. The area at present, you will recall, has cobbles set into concrete which does little to soften the brutalism of one of the worst local examples of 1960s architecture.
