As a first hand account of the demo has been requested, I shall supply one. It was very well-attended by 150-200 people who probably convinced some passers by that the Fringe had started early, what with the singing, chanting, accordian music, customary free sausages from our local celebrity butcher and the general carnival atmosphere.
Once again, there was a real cross-section of ages in attendance and rousing speeches from PCATS chair and TV star, Dickie Alexander, local councillor, Lawrence Marshall, MSP Susan Deacon and Joanna Blythman, food writer and author. TV cameras were in evidence but there's been no coverage transmitted so far. Oh well, can't expect to be on telly EVERY day.
Thanks to everyone who has supported the campaign so far; without you we wouldn 't have achieved the result we did today.
