I met a woman tonight who looked just like Fay Fife. Turned out she was Fay Fife, my favourite all-time pop star. We hadn't met in a quarter of a century, although I had seen her onstage a couple of years ago and had followed her career. I called my 13 year old son over.
'What's my favourite band?' I asked.
'The Rezillos' he replied.
'And what is the female singer in the Rezillos called?'
'Fay Fife'
'Say hello to Fay Fife'
'Yeah, right'
We couldn't convince him that I wasn't having him on.
And the ridiculous thing is, 30 years since I first saw the Rezillos onstage supporting the Ramones, I'm still star-struck and awed in her presence.

I can still see wee Paul Coia's face on that quiz show they used JMJ music on.

Another gameshow with a great band doing the theme was The Krypton Factor - the tune was done by muso-art-studio band Art Of Noise.

I'm listening a lot at the moment to the first album by the excellent Edinburgh band Found.
As their name implies, they specialise in manipulating 'found' sounds and very good it sounds too ( or so I've found).
