The Haddows in Porty High St closes tomorrow, which is bad news for the staff who have lost their jobs at Xmas. There's just about nothing left on the shelves but my wife managed to pick up a couple of bargains earlier today. I can report that the 10 year old single malt Glengoyne is very light, smooth and delicious, while I am intrigued by (though yet to sample) the madeira-finished Penderyn. Not only is it 46 percent proof but it is Welsh! Both bottles were half price. In theory, anything left is selling at 90% off tomorrow.
Must be good news at least for the Fine Wine Company to have one less competitor.
