Yes, he doesn't want to direct motorists down any of the side streets as parking is already at a premium. If we are directing them anywhere, it should be to the car park at Bridge Street, where there are spaces for 65 cars.

He also pointed out that we already had the finger sign-posts directing pedestrians to the beach. I think people will find the beach OK, it's a question of how we get them to Portobello in the first place.

Here's one idea. There are currently 8 reviews of Portobello beach on . Let's add a few, shall we?

On the subject of car parking and signage ........an additional sign directing motorists to Bridge Street car park is to be put up within the next 8 weeks.

Did the whole "Bus to the Beach" thing die a death? It seemed a great idea but all I see on the 26 is Bus to the Zoo!!

What I took away from the discussion was that on the next set of new buses for the 26 one side would have zoo, the other beach. Paul suggested 15, but nothing in the pipeline there I think.
