My soundcard has a 5.1 test feature which puts a voice through each channel to speak which one it is respectively, and left front and rear do indeed come out on my left.

and then, when you get everything eventually in its final place you wonder - is the red terminal or the black terminal the negative one? The speaker cable says connect the inner cores to the negative terminals, but theres no indication of which ones they are...

If we're talking about wiring up plugs (if not what ARE we talking about??) then I was always taught bRown to the Right and bLue to the Left and anything that's left over goes in the middle. Not been blow up yet
