Portobello mushrooms

I had never heard of these until I went for a Festive Meal with a friend last night at a pizza restaurant uptown. Their festive offering was Pizza Natale, with roast chestnuts and Portobello mushrooms - well, naturally I had it. Very tasty it was too! I was told the Portobello referred to is in Italy. Maybe we should try growing these mushrooms in Porty, and Carlo's can offer a Porty Pizza!

Bizarrely, the Porty calendar has just landed on my desk through the internal post, too! Although, I think I know which of my colleagues sent it (I don't work at RoS).

Aren't they usually spelled with an "a", though? Everywhere I've seen them they're "Portabello" - which makes no sense, since that would be Portabella mushrooms.
