Dada, I don't think Rachel Corrie was an accident, especially when one examines the photos. My point was Israeli bulldozers are accurate.

You have in the past taken me to task for appearing to avoid addressing some direct questions. May I invite you to comment on who Tommy was thinking of when he made this comparison with himself?

How do you know it was a comparison with himself? The book was co-written with Alan McCombes for starters. Tommy is an internationalist, so it's not just the SSP he might be referring to, but the entire global movement.

So rather than it being a comparison of one individual to one or more others, is it not merely a pointed (and in my opinion, correct) statement that progressive movements or individuals with foresight have in a lot of cases become famous not only for what they achieved, but for the obstacles they overcame?

The quote isn't from a book its from a Scotsman interview. He is talking about the SSP rather than just himself, to most people its one and the same thing.

Are you going to be voting this weekend then Dadaist? I spent Thu night in the company of Colin Fox's campaign manager. We all gathered round the tele to watch her being interviewed on 'Politics Now' about the leadership contest, only for the screen to freeze. When the reception returned we had missed her interview entirely :cry:

No. I hope it's Colin, but when you read the statements they made I'm glad to not be there - it looks bitter.

This weekend I'm working overtime, having a driving lesson, spending time with the girls and visiting our friend's new baby.

I guess if I got nostalgic for an SSP conference I could always cheer myself up by watching "The Life Of Brian".
