The quote isn't from a book its from a Scotsman interview. He is talking about the SSP rather than just himself, to most people its one and the same thing.

I think psephologically speaking it's complete and utter nonsense. Those who vote SSP stay SSP voters. Those who vote SSP are more likely to join us than any other political party because we're an activist based party. In other words, people don't vote SSP because they want to protest. They vote SSP because they want to change the world.
Those who have wanted to change the world throughout history have always been scoffed at but they've always been right in the long run. "
Once again, who or what is he referring to? And with the exception of the "scoffing" bit can whatever he is referring to be reasonably compared?
