While it is nice that this is happening for South Edinburgh and Craigmillar, is it not a touch hypocritical of the same council to be proposing the concreting over of a large part of Portobello Park and Golf Course.
Councillor Perry says
"The creation of accessible and well-managed open space is an important part of the regeneration process. "As well as developing high-quality homes, better shops and community facilities, we also want to create a desirable environment in which to live, with plenty of open space for our young people to play in and for families to enjoy."
To me, Portobello park and Golf Course is a plentiful, open space. It helps create a desirable environment in which to live. It is accessible.
I think we should keep it, in its entirity...on site...
Brown field sites should be looked at again, and hopefully that is what the Council might do
